Mortage broker

Options
Hello,

I wonder if you could help? I am looking for a mortgage/broker in my local area. I have read Martin’s guide on what I should be asking for, but would like to know if there is a resource for locating one locally. In particular given the plethora of products available do they specialise?, in areas such as guarantor mortgages.

Where do you live? would you rather do business face to face or are you comfortable taking advice over the phone. As far as I am aware there is not specific way to check for reputable mortgage brokers in your area other than the Financial Services Authority Website https://www.fsa.gov.uk, whilst this will list names of firms it will not necessarilyllist the name of brokers that work under the firm unless they are full IFA's which is obviously different to a mortgage broker

A good way to find someone is to ask friends colleagues and family for recommendations, of failing this visit a few brokers and see which one you feel the most comfortable with. Make sure they are whole of market and fee's free though.

If you need a recommendation, I can recommend Mr. Smith. Highly. Any Questions I will answer honestly. I cannot recommend any others as I have no experience of their work.
