Rental accommodation and Bankruptcy

Hi Becky, I am bankrupt and I my husband and I are hoping to move to rented accommodation ( instead of living in my ex's house). The problem is the letting agents do credit search you, this gives them a problem as they guarantee your rent (that is why landlords use them). We are hoping to get round it by giving 6 months rent up front but that will be a lot of cash including the bond.

My parents are happy to act as guarantor for us, so if we do that and provide them with deposit plus one months rent upfront do you think we would be ok?0

I don't know you will have to speak to the letting agents and best be honest with them. They are going to do the credit search anyway and find out.
You could try renting privately. Then the credit check won't be done.
