It looks like all you can do is write to each creditor and making an offer of paying the 3% while asking them to suspend interest and charges on the accounts.

thanks for all advice, what ill do is ring all my creditors to get up to date info on what i owe and where, cos im not 100% sure because i dont know whos cashed what cheques, etc. ill post up exact figures etc, of all income, expenditure, etc, give you a 100% full picture of my situation as it stands, then would you help me with working out the % of debt payments etc, and direct me to these letters and stuff i need to send. your help and advice is extremely appreciated, and i hope you dont mind helping me a little more

Thought I would chip in here.

My Debt Relief Order was just approved yesterday. I had about 7k debt ranging from overdrafts to credit card bills and gym membership etc. I went through citizens advice and they went through the whole process with me. Yes, I did have to pay £90 before it was sent off but there is very little chance you will be denied as citizens advice make sure you fulfil the criteria set by the courts. You will not have to make any court appearance and your debt will literally disappear overnight. Although you will not be able to get any credit for a year, I'm sure your current credit rating is a bit poor at the moment.

How about checking with the HMRC to see if you can get working tax credit? It might not be that much, but sometimes even £10 a week extra can make a difference.

Yes, I forgot about that. Yet another way our tax regime discriminates against single people, or couples without children. If you have a child that rquirement disappears and you only need to be 16 or over to claim. No wonder people become parents so early in today's Britain!
