Arg! Help needed now - burnt plastic on cooker

Carp! Accidentally turned the wrong ring on and have burnt a lock in lock on th estove. Its all plastic and gooey. Have turned heat off - what do i do? Leave the plastic until it cools ! HELP! :eek:

BOO! It moved, and knocked my cooking rice ALL over the kitchen floor. Luckily, my italian spag bol dish survived despite my tiled floor.:eek: Think the bananas saved it:rotfl:A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men :cool:

if it doesnt peel off once cooled - heat it up GENTLY, then try scraping it off, but dont let it melt too much IYSWIM. it will come off eventually but patience is needed - I did the same thing when first married - a tupperware container on a ring i didnt realise was still on. gawd the smell - and the mess!!! had to reheat the dammm ring a couple of times but i got it all off.0
