Asda home delivery

Just typed up a huge post and 'lost' it..gggrrrr

i used a voucher for free home delivery from asda today, you had to spend over £50..i spent about £52 to allow for any loose fruit or veg to bring the price down..and guess what, 2 items were out of stock so my total came to less than £50 and theyve charged me for delivery!

ive emailed them, but i'll doubt i'll even get a reply..wouldnt have bothered ordering it to be delivered today cos saturdays are dearer than during the week..

anyone had this happen..?

I have not used home delivery before, but i would phone the manager of your local store, where presumably your shopping will come from. If you speak to them directly, they should give the driver a refund for you, or chargeback your credit card.

Same thing happened to me last week, had £10 off a £35 shop, about 10 of my items were out of stock (including milk and bread!!!) plus 3 substitutes, then 1 item I was charged for didnt arrive, (did get a refund)

To make it worse alot of the out of stock items were on 3 for 2 or simalar so I didnt even get my offers!

Anyway its put me off online shopping, If I go shopping with my cousin we pay half each on a taxi or better still if I go with my mum, she doesnt take petrol money off me (even though I offer it)

I have used sainsburystoyou for about 3 years.

I get free delivery if I have my shopping delivered on a thursday, but as long as i order goods to the value of £70 i get the free delivery. There have been times when thay have not sent what I ordered but they normally send a substitute which you dont have to accept.

On the odd occasion that there are no suitable substitues and my bill goes below £70 I still get free delivery.

I think charging you delivery is unfair and as other posters have stated it is worth a call to asda on line shopping

    Hope this helps

my one experience of online delivery was with asda and it put me off for life. Loads of ridiclous substitutions. never again :(
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

Although I have to agree that Asdas home delivery can be a very traumatic experiance, I have had to use them over the past year when Ive been really ill and they have normally been pretty good.

If I have any problems I email them with whats wrong and they always refund me. There CS is very good. I ahve moaned so many times..lol.

Personally, I like going to the supermarket but with ill health this isnt normally possible.

I had a bad experience with asda 5 weeks ago. Theoretically you should still get your £10 discount as it's not your fault that some of the items were unavailable. I would use the freephone number to complain and complain and complain until you are satisfied.

My last (and it will remain the last) delivery was made brilliantly (great driver) Only problems were 3 unavailable items, 1 item missing and a price descrepancy on some cheese. The delivering store had some sort of problem with completing my order status so when I finally got the bill they had charged me for the unavailable items. It took me three weeks to get them to understand that I hadn't had delivery of those items because no-one seemed to be able to actually get hold of a delivery note so they could compare what they had billed me for with what was delivered (I did offer to fax mine but they weren't interested).
editted to add: I only saw a result when I insisted on speaking to the duty manager on the phoneline and told him I wasn't prepared to hang up until he'd sorted it out.

I decided the savings made with money off codes wasn't worth the agro of chasing up problems.

I had a very different experience with tesco home adelivery yesterday as dh was away I had to order online. I used a voucher to get £5 off if I spent over £50 my total before offers came to 51.36 and delivery was charged t £5.99(scary) but when all my offers came off the total was less then 50 pound I still got the £5 off!! i have had this before with them so am very happy I have even had £15 off for over £150 spend and i send a couple of replacement items back they still honoured the £15 off even though i was well below the £150!!!

    update
I decided to ring asda, as it's been playing on my mind-not a huge amount i know, just was annoyed by it..

anyway, chap on the phone was able to tell me that although it said on my delivery note that i had paid for the delivery, infact i havent, i went and checked my order on the website..and sure enough, the order's showing up as -£5.95..just off to update my signature now..!
