Cash for links - Blogging help

Hi all

I have a blog (website on my profile) that I am updating at least 3 to 4 times at week. I have clocked up about 50 visits so far, and a whopping 58p from my adsense account.

What I would like is to have ads appear when visitors to my site click on links in my blog.

Sort of a click through system.

Visitor reads article and then clicks link to a website,

The website opens up along with an advert

I in return get revenue from the advert


Is there anything out there that offers this? I understand pop ups and pop unders can be blocked as well as a little annoying but it is something I want to trial and see how it works out.

If it fails or is obtrusive I can remove it.

I am not aware of ad networks that provide pop ups - although I am sure they exist. Generally the industry has moved on from this as it will alienate your users. They key to building up a blog and making money in the long term is to build up a regular list of users. Encourage people to sign up to RSS feeds for a start. You can then get your content pushed out to 1000s of people regularly.

By far the best CPM comes from affiliate schemes. This is a measure of how much you'll make per 1000 visits - you'll notice this in your adsense account. It will probably be pennies and I highly doubt pop ups will be any better (and will hurt long term growth too). With a well targeted affiliate scheme you can post this up to pounds.

A good place to start is amazon associates, their site converts very well (around 5% is "normal") and you'll get pounds for a good sale, not pennies. The problem is making sure your blog appeals to people who are in the mood to splash their cash, so you'll need to post up about a book that someone might want to buy or review a product.

Experimenting is critical and I wouldn't want to suggest otherwise, but pop ups should be low on your list of things to try. But whatever you go for, best of luck!!
