Help I've got loads of kitchen oil on my good trousers!

Hi

I'm really hoping you can help... I was at my Son's birthday party at the weekend and we had hired a hall and had permission to use the kitchen and oven. DUring the week its a coffee shop at an RAF Station. Anyway, the coffee shop people had left a frying pan in the oven full of oil/fat - they use it to fry the eggs etc... I had no idea it had anything in it and wasn't expecting it. Anyway enough said I got loads of it all down one leg of my rather lovely red trousers!

After the party I came home put it in a bucket with a load of Ariel Biological and left it there. I've just looked at it and some of it has definitely gone but I am sure I can see a shadow - its still soaking so I can't be sure. Anyway before I stick it in the wash I just thought I'd see if anyone had any top tips for removing it so I can still use my trousers. They are my fav pair!

Thanks in advance

Jo

When I did my aromatherapy qualification, the tutor told us that massage oil (usually grapeseed or olive oils) would wash out of our uniforms with a dishwasher tablet. It works beautifully :)

  • I'd rub in washing liquid into the oil, inside and outside of the fabric. If that doesn't get it out first time, try again. Don;t, whatever you do, iron them until you've got the grease out - heat can serve to set the grease and it'll never come out.

    Good luck, Penny. x
