Woody,
I'm 34 years old and I’m well aware that I’ve been naive in my financial dealings and the buck stops with me! That’s why I’ve come on here simply to get advice.

I've had been I’ll and never realised how ill I was when taking out my loan and let things happened that shouldn’t have.

Please don't reply to me if your going to such a patronising prat
.

You haven't came for advice - you have came on blaming the Halifax for everything when everything is actually your own fault.

Stand up and account for your own actions and you might get somewhere.

The Op didn't come here to face the gallows...

OP, Try this forum which may be of use, as they have templates that yuou can download to chase PPI claims. The website was called www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk

Secondly, I would try citizens advice.

Regardless of what you think, I did come on here for advice, some people have been very helpful, but I can't believe the amount of people on here like you, who take the moral high ground and tell me all I’ve done wrong "DO YOU NOT THINK I ALREADY KNOW THIS!!" I wanted advice, not a lecture.. It must be fantastic to be as perfect as you. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO ME AGAIN.

Mate keep paying the loan as you have a good rate and you would have already paid the bulk of the interest as no doubt it's front loaded.

Is there any chance you can cancel the PPI?

How many months left on the loan?

Don't worry about the robots on here, as they will run out of batteries soon enough.

I really don't get the moral high ground here - unless they're embittered PPI salesmen. The OP actually has a relatively small debt problem, is not looking for a way to avoid paying it back, and has come on asking for advice. He's stated that the reaon the loan isn't going down much is that most of the payment is in useless PPI costs. PPIs have been mis-sold all over the place, and loads of people are claiming a lot of money back, which often halves the debt. Plus in his case, he may have been vulnerable when sold it due to depression.

If somoene wanted to take moral high ground, you'd think they'd save it for someone who's willfully run up tens of thousands in debt just to go bankrupt or something.

Good luck Weedesie - I hope you manage to get the PPI back.
• Thanks Snippa

Some people try to make you feel like an irresponsible teenager on here, unbelievable.

And you’re dead right, its a small debt problem that I'm confronting and tend to clear.

Thank you for your advice and support.. The reason I came on here.

I’ve submitted a complaint to try and get back my ppi money. So will keep you informed on how it goes
:)

• Hi Cash Flow, thanks for your help :)

Its was an 84 month agreement, of which I’ve paid 36 months @£150.98 ( I originally said 38, but its 36) so I have 48 months left to pay, so that will take me up to 2014. I have already asked for the PPI to be cancelled and I’m waiting on forms to sign to do this. So with the PPI removed my instalments have been revised at £145 or something. I think I agree with you that I should stick with the loan rather than transfer it elsewhere

Thanks :)

Rubbish!
The OP came here to try to find a way of avoid debt they legitimately accrued.
