Good evening
I've accessed my credit report on annualcreditreport.co.uk. On my 'credit applications and searches' bit, it says I have no applications or search footprints on my report, but it is in red, and the colour coding key thing says that red is 'adverse information'. Why is having no applications or searches considered 'adverse information'? I would have thought that's a good thing, isn't it?

I was told by a banker that it's always a good idea to aply for credit at least once a year. Get a store card or something and then cut it up as soon as it arrives.
If you have a bad rating though this could have an adverse effect.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -
I logged onto them yesterday for the first time & had the same red print in that section, which was explained by kevin_m. There are also clear explanations above each section. What surprised me was, although all the info displayed was correct, it showed my file as only having 3 accounts, all correctly showing that my payments had been kept up to date for the last few years. It did not show my 5 defaulted accounts (3 with BLS collections, 1 with Wescot & 1 with Robinson Way & co). Now, these defaults occured around June 2000, so I can understand that the 6 year rule may apply here & they've been taken off. But, I would have thought that all my payments since then would still show as the accounts are still active with just under 3 years still to go assuming I don't raise the payments, which I intend doing after another payment finishes in December. I hope this makes sense!Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!)
