Hate this awful company and totally regret the day I first got sucked in!

Mbaz - keep chasing them, they owe you and it doesn't matter if the loan has ended. I received an offer of about £500 for an old loan account (admittedly I am now waiting for the cheque)

Mpotts123 - You could try this number:
Tel: 0115 9729512 - it is for their Nottingham office.
    Ebay challenge 2010 - £525
    :idea:August 2009: Debt _pale_: [STRIKE]£55895.56[/STRIKE] £43069.65 - £12825.91 paid off so far (23%)
    Council Tax Arrears Paid £6023.67/£6581.64 (92%) :j
    2009 (5 months) £5753.53 paid / 2010 £7072.38 paid so far

This is a complete nightmare for me! 6 months ago we sent an acceptance back for a PPI reclaim via ombudsman and have never heard from them again!!! Unfortunately the loan is paid off and I reckon the total PPI was about £1200. Probably never see that again now :-(

If that is the case then (assuming the award was against Welcome) write to

    Dear Mr Mackin

    Payment Protection Policy Number [number]

I refer to the award made by the Financial Ombudsman Service on [date] and accepted by me on [date].

To date I you have failed to ensure that your company meet its legal obligation to comply with the Ombudsman's award. Therefore, I am writing to inform you that, unless I receive full settlement of the award, including simple interest at 8% per annum from the date on which it was made, within fourteen days from the date of this letter, I shall commence court action to recover it.

I hope it will not be necessary for me to do this.

    Yours sincerely

Just to re-iterate information for anyone haggling on a settlement figure.
Under no circumstances does any money get paid over until you have a letter from them stating that the amount you agree on is full & final and the loans will be marked as such with all credit reference agencies.

;) I think I spend too much time here lol

Northampton office is still running: 01604 630533
  • Just been on the phone to someone on 0115 984 9200 number and he advised general settlement figure, I advised about the fact my loan has just under 8 years to run and Welcome will only be claiming money for 2-3 years but he advised they do not negotiate.

After further questioning him on this he gave me 0845 number to call and speak to account manager.

    Will call tomorrow. Here's hoping.

    Cheers,

    Michael
