Hi, I have not worked since Oct 2006, ( made redudnant) claimed Con jsa for the first 6 months, then signed off, was lucky OH earned enough to support us, while I looked after elderly mother ( unpaided ), now she has gone into care and I need to get back into work, so should I sign on again or just leave it and carry on job hunting.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You could put in a claim on a cont basis but as you havn't worked you wouldnt satisfy the conditions and as your OH works full time if you tried to claim income based you would be nil'd on their income.
You could sign for credits though which help go towards you qualifying in the future or for your pension:j Mummy to little Poppy June :j0 -
Thanks for your reply's, bettybelle, I would'nt be entitled to any financial help and hibbi i agree with what you say about credits for the future and towards my pension, luckly I already got 29 yrs in for my pension, considering I have 18yrs left to my retirement hopefully I will get some work during that time to pay credits towards my pension.0
