Cheap toasty maker

Hello!

I would like a new toasty maker, I have found plenty of cheap ones but I want one with removeable plates so that it will be easier to clean. I had a regular one but it started to smoke from under the plates. I removed them using a screwdriver and there was lots of cheese in there...urgh!!! It went in the bin!

Thanks for your help.:)

  • I know it's probably not what you want, but have you tried the toasted sandwich bags? They are sold in lots of places for around £1 here. They go in the dishwasher and once they're past using we get some more. Easily stored :D

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried the bags but don't really like them. I like toasty makers because they seal everything in.
  • We use a George Forman grill for our toasties, easy to clean plus you can use it for more than just toasties.
Don't know how much use that is if you prefer one that'll seal your toastie, but I've never seen a proper toastie machine with removable plates.

  • I have seen removeable plate ones but they cost more than I want to spend. I was looking at the George Forman grill things but there seem to be quite a few different ones and I didn't know which was best! Do they cook chicken and fish too??

The one we have is quite a small one, I'll see if there's a name on it when I get home, but yes, Its used for chicken & fish as well as toasties.

EDIT: This is the closest to our one. We've had it for a few years now so this is prob the newer version, it looks a slightly different shape. Pricewise though it's more or less whatwe paid and we got it from Argos too. Any use?

Ditto the George Foreman. I can't see a model number on mine but it cost less than £20 from Tesco, on offer about a year ago.

That said I am sure I saw a Sandwich maker on offer in Sansbury earlier this evening. I didn't pay too much attention as I was there for other things.....
