Free Energy Saving Lightbulb

  • A friend mentioned that she had found a variety of energy saving lightbulbs in Tesco. I went down to the Ilminster store and found bulbs for 10p and some for 20p so stocked up. I don't know if the offer is still on and if it's nationwide, but it's worth a look.

This is correct as I also purchased them for 10pence each today from the Cardiff store. They also have 'round' ones at £1 ea which more acceptable in lounges etc. Both types are available with bayonet fitting and various wattage.

Yes I remember this one from before, the picture shows a screw fitting on the bulb and it doesn't give you the option of a baynet or screw fitting in the order form, so some people including myself opted not to request one if it looks like you get a screw fitting one.

I don't know for definite but I'm pretty sure they've stopped manufacturing bayonet fitting bulbs for standard usage. I can't remember the reason why though! I work with specialist reptile lighting and get quite a few customers buying the reptile bayonet bulbs fot their home as they're being phased out and are increasingly unavailable elsewhere.

 I hope this is just a rumour as my house has nothing but bayonet fittings.

It's the first I've heard of it and a Google shows up nothing so think we're fine (unless RachyD can prove otherwise).
