How to go about it.

Been lurking here for years, but this is my first ever question on the board.
I now want to set up a DMP, a self run one, so that I control when payments are sent etc.
I have lots of comm's with DCA's, lenders etc, most I have kept quiet by informing them they are breaking OFT guidelines and so like. That has led to me not hearing from many for ages (maybe up to 9 months with some).
Being honest I have taken use of their silence, and not made payments
But to be fair, I lent it so I need to pay it back. However...........
Option 1: Should I write to all my creditors, I have 9/10 in total asking for totals owed, APR's etc. So that I can draw up a plan. Or will this open up discussions between me and the quiet ones again, leading to more letters etc.
Option 2: Write to all requesting CCA's, so I can concentrate on the enforceable ones.
Option 3: Continue what I am doing lol.
I am currently unemployed at present, but start a min wage job next week, which i will be topping up with WTC.

I am not able to help with most of that, as I am in the same boat really, I just wanted to know what this OFT thing is that has got them off your back?
I am in the same situ too, so keep us updated of how you do!

google "OFT guidelines on debt collection" you will be surprised what they can not do.
There is other things such as the harassment route.
Be aware it does not make the debt disappear it just gives you the control back. Here to learn and pass on my experiences.

although in reality to get together all of your details so you know exactly where you stand would be a good idea,
if you currently havent heard from some of them in a while i would personnally not contact them yet, without knowing the figures and details of what you do owe it is hard to advise properly however i would try and make use of having less creditors to pay back AT THE MOMENT and use that extra to lower the balances on the ones that you are in contact with, basically snowball the money on these debts until you have either paid them off or until one of hte others contacts you.
it might be worth doing a credit report on yourself to see what it turns up as wellDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
