Quidco Reminder

this may be a stoooooooopid question, but here goes!

I've been using Quidco for cashback on purchases for the last year, and have done quite well with it. HOWEVER, I keep buying things, for example a bread machine for a friend's bday pressie (quite a bargain I might add - I have learn a few lessons this year!!), but then a few minutes later, think, "bu**er - I forgot to go through quidco!!".

Anyhow, my question is : Does anyone know, or has anyone found, a way to make my computer remind me to go through quidco before buying something?

Hmmm, it does look reeeaaaaaallly stupid now it's written down. Perhaps this is my invention that will make me rich and famous!

***Off to the patenting website***

Thanks

  • How do you pay for these things? If it is by debit card, what about a sticky label with the word Quidco on it so you remember when you go to put in the card details for payment?

I have seen something before, it basically just checked your URL and then put you through automatically via a certain cashback website.

Might be something like this - http://www.sharewareconnection.com/rpoints-toolbar.htm

They would need to be written into the web browser, otherwise you end up going to a site, getting a 'normal' not 'tracking' cookie and get no cashback.

An alternative style of tool, would be to light up the address bar (preferred) or give a popup to say this is a cashback site. Then If you clicked refer it closes the browser, deletes cookies, then go back to the site via the referral URL instead. Basically automating a manual process.

You could try making you password for each site you buy on quidco linked.
    ie tesco.com login-sammey90 password-Qu1dc01985

Obviously don't copy the password from here or let anyone know an dmake it your own personalized version of it. Alternatively the low brow approach is to write it on a peice of paper and stick it to your screen somewhere.

With Internet explorer 7 & 8 you can have multiple home pages when it opens new tabs. Set quidco to be a homepage when you open up the internet.

  • What about making Quidco your homepage?

    thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm a little brainless, and I often forget what I opened a tab for in the time it takes for a tab to open! I think the best idea for me (being a bear of very little brain) is to stick a post-it on the screen
