1st credit help needed

Hi I was contacted by first credit saying that i owe them money for a HFC loan, i paid off a few debts some years ago and I am sure that this was amongst them, I made a reduced final payment at the time. I have gone through my bank statements and have found a payment thats seems to be for about the right amount but it was paid to a collection company called Cabot Financial. I dont have a receipt and the amount on my bank statement does not indicate that it was for HFC only that its approx the right amount and it was paid to CAbot Financial. I have tried to get some contact details for Cabot Financial over the internet but can find nothing at all about them, does anyone have any contact details for them and are they still in business. Stupidly I gave ist credit my telephone number before i found this site and haveing read up about them I am now waiting for the calls to start. I dont know what to do and i am really worried that I am going to start getting horrible phone calls from them, I have asked for a copy of the original credit agreement as suggested on here but i really dont know what else to do. Can anyone help me.

Sue a creditor has to prove to you that there is money owed in your name.
Basically on the 1st phone call you get tell them that they need to send you proof of monies owed as until that time you acknowledge no debts. If you are put under pressure to make any payments over the phone don't.
Pretend your a soldier under interrogation but instead of repeating Name, Rank & serial number. State" Prove it, Prove it, Prove it". Don't supply any contact details and they can post to where ever they think you are, if you are even who they thinkNew PV club member. 3.99kW system.
