iQOR Again!!

Hi

Looking for a bit of help if possible. The other day I had a missed call on my mobile and when I looked into it I found out it was iQor debt collections. The problem is I don't know why they are calling. I dealt with them several months ago regarding a loan which was passed to them a few years ago by the Bank of Scotland and was making payments directly to them until they passed it to Geoffrey Par solicitors who I now have an arrangement with and who I pay directly each month. I haven't had any letters to state otherwise but do you think it's now back with them (hope not as they nearly pushed me over the limit before)!!! The only other thing I have with the bank is my overdraft on my current account but I'm still using this account and haven't had any problems so far....the bank reviewed my overdraft back in August and reduced it by £100 which was paid. I've had no further letters from the bank re overdraft or anything. Do you think the bank have passed this to IQOR to reclaim overdraft if so is this normal practise with the bank or do you think the old debt for the loan is back in their hands again is this normal practise for a debt to be passed around from one collection agency to another??

Any advice would be appreciated as feeling very worried and anxious about this as IQOR are a nightmare to deal with!!

Thanks x

    Why don't you ask them?

What I always do is answer the phone, pretend to be someone else and then suggest that they put it in writing. If they don't have you address then you have nothing to worry about.

I had a letter the other day from IQOR about an ebay bill I hadn't paid for £40. Could you owe eBay or PayPal any money?

They're unlikely to have your phone number but not your address.

    If it's important they'll write.

Don't get involved in manipulative conversations with them on the phone - tell them to put it in writing.

As above, get it in writing.

If the keep on ringing, keep on refusing to answer security or DPA questions. If they give you any information without knowing who you are, they have broken the law, Data Protection Act 1998.

    Thanks everyone,

I did miss the call the other day but didn't call back as didn't recognise the number!! IQOR do have my telephone number and address due to the fact that I dealt with them previously with a different matter!!! I don't owe anything for the likes of ebay or paypal as I don't use these. The only other thing I can think of is a balance on my old N Power account but this has been put on hold due to a complaint that is getting dealt with internally and I have had letters and phone calls to back that up.

I'll either wait on a letter or maybe answer to find out what it's about without giving them any information.

Was just curious but maybe my loan has been passed back to them from Geoffrey Par :(

    Thanks again

Worth knowing these rules, they are short, give them a read - http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/consumer_credit/oft664.pdf

    e. not informing the debtor when their case has been passed on to a

Just an update on the above!! IQOR services rang my phone today but I didn't answer so I gave Geoffrey Parker Bourne a call re my arrangement with them only to be told that my file had been passed back to IQOR and that I would have to contact them direct. I advised that I hadn't received a letter from them saying that my file was back at IQOR but was told me they don't have to inform me of that. Someone told me that Geoffrey Parker Bourne are actually the solicitors that IQOR services use. Not sure what to do as IQOR are a nightmare!!! As I'm on benefits at the moment Geoffrey Parker were accepting a small payment each month but IQOR are never happy and when they dealt with my debt before each month they tried to up my payments even they knew my outgoings etc. I don't really want to try and negotiate with them and don't want contact with them via telephone. Do I wait for them sending a letter to which I could reply with an offer of payment each month and also request contact only via letter and request for them to stop telephoning me??? I'm not sure what their next move will be to enforce this debt. Someone suggested sending a statement of affairs with my letter but to be honest they had this a while ago!!! Also I got married a couple of years ago but didn't inform them or change my name as I was worried that they could ask for my husband's details and at the time their bully tatics worked on me but do I have to update my details with them??

Also I know this might me a bit cheeky but I was actually going to try and claim PPI back on this original loan as I found the paperwork the other day and the PPI was £1500!!! I think my outstanding balance on the loan is £2100!!!

    Thanks
  • EagerLearner, how can you be so cynical? Someone creates a website which just happens to use the same words as yours, and by a remarkable coincidence they are in exactly the same order, yet straight away you jump to conclusions!

Sardonic comments seem to be appearing on their blog now: it's so sad.
  • Sharon I would persue the ppi and then once you get it back you can offer it as full and final settlement or accumulate enough to pay the full depending or not if they accept offers. Good luck xx
