PPI & Loan - Which comes first?

Hi All,

I need some advice so hope you can.

I am wanting to take out a loan and want the security of having PPI. I want to take it out with a seperate company as the loans own PPI is a ridiculous price.

Here comes the bit where I am confused, I dont want to take out an uncovered loan and have the PPI refused later so is there any way to check/apply for the PPI first?

Any advice welcome........thanks

I am not an expert in this, but *I think* PPI works the same way as any other insurance: you can get a quote first and then buy it a little later with some alterations.
