Hi
I bought a front room pendant from B & Q in Aug/Sep for about £100. It worked fine until last week, and then stopped working. I have checked all the wires in my house and they work fine. The light has about 20 halogen bulbs, so they couldn't have all blown. Anyway, I have no receipt for the product. Is there anything I can do. I have phoned and they have basically fobbed me off. I know I paid using Credit Card, I have a few B & Q items on my credit card statement, but dont know which is for the light.
Many Thanks
Andy

One of my lights just went. Bulbs ok, it was the transformer in the light itself, or at least the electronice connected with the transformer. Nothing to be done, except buy a new light. Yours ought to be still under warranty, I would have thought. Cheap Chinese components, so luck of the draw how long they last, I suppose. Profit margins must be huge, have you checked the prices in John Lewis!!!0

Hi Andy
i've recently had a similar problem with a bathroom cabinet from B&Q that the veneer has bubbled on. This probably wont help you now, but b and q do have a system where they can check for your purchase on their computer if it was made in the last three months by using the card number you used. You will probably be out of date by now, but might be useful in the future.
So frustrating when you've spent a lot of money on something0 -
Sounds like a transformer problem to me. Take it back and see what they say.
I like the cheap Chinese components problem, presumably as opposed to expensive Chinese components. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Cheers guys.
had a result today. phoned the store I bought it from. They dont stock it anymore, but he still had details about the light. told me they could only give me a store credit and only to the value they last sold the product for. I bought it for £80 which I never told him, they last sold it for £124, so I got £44 profit. Bought a new light for £40, so have over £80 left to spend in b&q which lasts a year.
