                    HI,
I am looking to board my attic, so that I can store stuff in there now that it has all been insulated - is there a proper name for the boards, and any ideas where to get them?
(I can get them all at once and store in garage if bulk on internet is cheaper) - I have searched the web, but only seem to come up with laminate floor etc..
cheers

Mine came from Wickes. They often have special offers on, & was lucky in this way when I got mine. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0

Wickes do a board specifically for boarding out lofts, its t&g on all 4 sides and I think its 6x4, an easy size to get up into the loft.
Make sure you screw fix it down and not nails. as you might crack the ceiling, or worse, bring it down.:DI find Viagra saves peeing on my shoe.....0

I'm just doing mine now. Chipboard loft flooring from B&Q - comes in packs of 3 boards 1220mmx320mmx18mm to cover 1.19 sqm. It's £3.88 per pack which is a few pence cheaper than Wickes. They also do a box of 200 loft screws with a free drill bit for £2.88.0

As a further point, each board should stretch from the centre of one rafter to the centre of the next but 1. I found each board was about 1-2cm too long. Having spent 10 minutes sawing a board by hand, I noticed a B&Q circular saw with blade for £14.99. The blades alone were nearly a tenner so I thought I'll try one and if it breaks I'll just take it back.
Absolute godsend. I must have trimmed 100 boards and it's still going strong. Even if I chuck it away when I've finished this job, it's been worth every penny.0
