Re-Mortgaging SO Heelp!

me and my other half are due to re mortgage our SO property in April and I was wondering what actually happens? What are the processes and what do we actually do? Do we need another solicitor do we need to pay any more money for fees? we are looking at getting a fixed deal obviously, hoping there will be some good deals out there. we are currently with Halifax through a broker, could we go directly to Halifax now or would it be best going back to the broker?
I was made redundant 8 months ago but took back on after 2 month, a month later everyone got transferred to a different employer but doing the exact same job with exact same pay, nothing changed only the company who we were working for (agency) will this matter when it comes to a re mortgage or are they now only interested in my money not bothered about what I do?

Phone Halifax as a starting point and find out what deals they can offer you. Then make an appointment with a broker to see if there's anything else available - I don't know anything about shared ownership so don't know which lenders offer deals, or how it works with LTV. Hopefully someone else will though.0

Have a look on the Halifax website at existing customer deals and then use " whatsthecost" to work out which of there Fixed rate deals suit you !
They have 2/3/5 year fixes some with fees ( £999) and some without ( higher rate ) play around with the calculator to find the best for you!0 -
I re-mortgaged with the Abbey the other day.Painless.
It took longer to order a ruby that same very evening!0 -
Thanks for all your replies, I might go and have a chat with a broker and see what they offer, I see on the Halifax that some have product fees and some dont, guess ill just have to wait until it comes to that time. how early can we start the re mortgage process?0
