Looking for loan without affecting credit score
Options
My daughter is stuck with a high interest rate loan (over 20%) from Lloyds TSB because of her credit score.
She has asked Lloyds if they can put her on a lower rate but they are unwilling.
Can she look for a cheaper loan from elsewhere without it affecting her credit score?
Any advice is most welcome.

what does her credit record say about her?
what's her income
how much does she owe0 -
She can google 'quotation search' on the subject of loans. Admittedly there's a very small number of companies that do quotation searches that don't impact on your credit score. But it's worth a go IMHO.

She can enquire about a loan from any lender but they will allleave a footprint on her credit files.
Too many searches in a small amount of time will not help her at all.0 -
The following lenders do a quotation search to give you an idea:
Egg
Nationwide

Hi,
On the santandar loan applicaton they ask what the loan is being used for - If you put that it is to pay off another loan I think it helps...I don't know that for sure but they gave me an instant yes online for 9000 so i could swap my lloyds loan to them - i was paying 16.1% - this was only last week.
Incidently - my mum ( prior to me getting this santandar loan) applied for the nationwide cheap loan. They said they dont do a credit check - she should and does have an absolutely amazing credit rating, nationwide came back with no because of her credit check with experian. She was really upset so she signed on with experian to find out what it could be - there was nothing on it at all that they could have viewed as poor and the last checks were 2 on the same day by nationwide. .. they must do credit checks or surely it wouldn't have come up on the report...Baby due 4th May 2013

CHRIS D, one option if you're willing is to seek a 0% credit card balance transfer deal from a firm like Virgin that allows the balance transfer to be paid into a current account. 4% fee for 16 months is a good deal. She may not qualify in her own name.0
