New things I have done this morning:
1. Made winter coleslaw for lunch tomorrow (and tues/wed) - so excited about trying it. Inspired by the lunch threads. I usually take hm soup but fancied a change.
red cabbage, red onion, celery, carrot
dressing: natural greek yoghurt, mustard, lemon juice
2. Used my food processor for the first time to slice and grate (winter coleslaw!)
3. Bought frozen casserole veg and used half of it to make veg curry for dinner (plus x3 for freezer) - read it somewhere on forum. Much cheapness.
onion in food processoer, frozen veg mix, curry paste, tinned tomatoes, chickpeas.
4. Garden being cleared and ready for veg plots. (Dig for victory! excited about own veg)
This board really does inspire me! High fives all round.

Well done you for digging for victory! My garden is still a bit frozen, though the chickens have been going over it for me last week when it wasn`t so cold (minus 5.3 when I went out to feed them this morning ), so I`m not digging it yet. I`ve got some things starting off in the conservatory (experimentally!) and I`ll see if it`s worthwhile planting them so early or whether it`s better to wait until end Feb-beginning March when there`s more light.
If this is your first time growing vegetables and you`re trying to be ultra-cheap then please do pm me and tell me what seeds you`re looking for - I have enough of many things to re-seed the whole of the south of England and would be very happy to share them rather than watching them rot in the packet - and I`m more than happy to splash out on a 2nd class stamp if it gets other people growing things. :T0
