Can you recommend an online supplier for crochet yarn?

I did do a search but I could only find super long posts that I wasn't sure would contain the right info.

I am just starting out with this hobby and would like some cheap but good yarn suppliers.

I know I could ask on free cycle but I am looking for specific colours.

  • Try this - cheap wool. Kemps are very popular :j and I like Black Sheep.

I'll merge this qiestion later to keep ideas together.

  • If you are looking for specific colours then I recommend you buy a shade card if available before purchasing the yarns. The colours you see on screen can be very different from real life. I bought shade cards from Rowan Up Country, but haven't bought yarn from them yet. Rowan is not cheap.

True, the same with Debbie Bliss yarns too.

I get a lot of my yarns from this ebay seller. Her prices are pretty good and she sends the wool out very quickly. I highly recommend her.
