Hi
We moved into a new house a couple of years ago and have a HUGE building at the end of the garden with power to it (approx 50ft x 40ft). My husband was planning to make it into a recording studio as he's done this before, but doesn't feel the demand is there in this current climate, but it just feels such a waste to have it sitting empty!
Does anyone have any ideas what we could do with it to bring in some extra income? It's not practical to make it into a dwelling for various reasons
Any idea gratefully received
Deb

post a vacancy advertisement or get in touch with a person of profession such as a teacher etc and rent out the space, that would bring in quite a bit!0

What sort of local environment do you have? Are you 20 miles from the nearest town or right in a city?
How about speaking to Business Link and the local Chamber of Commerce and any local business groups to see if there's a need that their members have for particular space... you might unlock a need for local crafters who could share the space and have a shop.
I saw one big unit on the telly where crafts people rented a space/stall and laid out their goods and the building owners provided the staff to sell. All the crafts people had to do was keep their corners stocked up and the business owner took 10% of the sales made as the rent. I think it was on one of those "house in the country" programmes and the couple wanted a house and space to run their business from and they were taken there to show them they could flog their stuff by renting the space there and then just buy a separate house a few miles up the road.0
