Since joining MSE I have...

It's now a month since I joined MSE and I'm definitely converted. So far I have:

1. Saved £560 on my home insurance by switching companies.
2. Spent £300 less on groceries than usual by meal planning, buying own brand and shopping around.
3. Saved £90 on the kids' school lunches by sending them with packed lunches (healthier as well).
4. Applied for 0% card to shift expensive debt.
5. Best of all now feel in more control!

I have more plans to look at utilities, cars etc. next month.

What have you done since joining MSE?

(With thanks to Hypno06 who asked this question a few years ago).

  • Oooh... great thread!

We've (for the first time ever) written and stuck to a budget. This has freed up in excess of 700 pounds a month that we were spending on god knows what (nothing!) that we have been throwing at our debt. We're going to be credit card free by the end of February!

We've still got a long way to go, but we've got such a sense of satisfaction in finally dealing with this.
Goal 1 - CCs & Loans Credit card free as of 20 Feb 2010!!! Loan Free as of 15 Sep 2011!!!
    Goal 2 - Private Student Loans Citi - [strike]$7,500[/strike] $1,200 | Echo [strike]$1,500[/strike] 0 | Sallie Mae [strike]$7,500[/strike] 0 (updated: 3 Nov 2010)
