Why weren't Tesco staff in uniform?

Went into Tesco's in Fakenham today, and the staff weren't in uniform and what a scruffy bunch they looked. Is this the start of doing away with uniforms so we can't work out who to ask when we cannot find something? You can't read or recognise a badge from the side or from behind like you can a uniform.

They go under cover in plain clothes, to make sure you don't swop the whoopsie labels around.

They have occasional dressdown days as a way of improving staff morale and dressdown days for charity so quit the moaning ;)
