Opticians prescription

I was sure I posted this topic yesterday evening, but cannot find it whatsoever... I really am going mad.
I have ordered glasses from Glasses Direct for myself and my parents, now my Nan's heard about them and wants to get in on the act. Shes been told she needs glasses for reading only.
Here is her prescription..
Right SPH +0.75 CYL -1.50 AXIS 170
Left SPH Plano CYL -0.75 AXIS 20
Near Right +2.50
Near Left +2.50
Aided VA
Right Dist 6/10-1
Left Dist 6/6+1
When I select glasses for reading on Glasses Direct, there are no options for the Aided VA thing, and I have no idea what it is referring too, none of us have had this on our prescriptions.
I emailed glasses direct last night, but they still have not got back to me, and are not open now until Monday...the buy one get one free offer finishes tomorrow so I am a bit stuck. I am thinking of ignoring the Aided VA thing but I don't want to without knowing what it means.
Help!!!

It stands for visual acuity and explains how well (or how poorly) she can see with correction (i.e wearing her specs). In laymans terms it means that in her case even with correction she won't see that well compared to you.
Even more reason to get her the best specs possible. See a good optician.MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -

I get what your saying, but does this mean I could just enter the other information to get glasses?0 -
the visual acuety means that the optomertrist can only improve vision by a certian amout - if they increace the prescriotion further the visual acuity falls! with these particullar visual accuitys there will always be a disprity between left and right but that is the best they could get. it is not always possible to correct the vision in both eyes equally and sometimes comprimises have to be made for best binocular vision acheivable.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. When I worked in optics the mum rule stated that if you wouldn't let your mum wear them, you should reject them.
Still holds true these days.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

To actually answer your question, the VA readings are not needed to make up glasses, so you don't need to enter them, thats why they are not asked for on the website. You will need a PD (distance between the eyes) however.0
