Online Pay Slips

Hi,
The company I work for has changed over the pay slips to an online system only, they never asked if that was ok, they just did it.
So now I have to access my pay slips online only.
I have been reading the terms and conditions of this online pay slip site and it says they will only keep the pay slips online for 1 year which now mean I will have to either save the pay slips somewhere or print them out myself.
Can a company change how I receive my pay slip without my permission?
Thanks.

Really not sure if they can do it without your permission, etc., but what's the big deal? Just print them off (even once a year, or selected slips only) if you really need them for future reference...or save them to a USB pen, or similar.£1 / 50p 2011 holiday flight + hotel expenses = £98.50/£600
HSBC 8% 12mth regular savings = £80 out of a maximum remaining allowance of £2500
"3 months' salary" reserve = £00 / £3600 :eek:0 -
My company do both... waiting for the day that they stop issuing the printed ones tbh. Since I could easily print it off using ink, paper and internet connection that the company has paid for, no big deal really.
As long as they keep paying me! :rotfl:Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120 -
1 year is extremely poor. Financial information should be kept for at least 6 years, because that is how long a debt can be chased for.
I would definitely print them off and keep them. You could also suggest to your employer that as the data is only kept on line for 1 year, they might like to undertake not to chase refunds for overpayments in error after this time.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The company may well keep records for 6+ years (they should, anyway), but may restrict employee access to one year's history. I should imagine in the event of any dispute, the company would have to pull old statements as evidence.£1 / 50p 2011 holiday flight + hotel expenses = £98.50/£600

Every person is entitled to a summary of there payment/tax/NIC/ net pay etc. What happens if you dont have internet access or a email address?
I assume you would be allowed to use work facilities to view your payslip and print them?If not then how else will you get them?0 -

Its ok, your company will definately keep your pay records for 6 years (my payroll system at present has back to 2001 when the system was installed) but perhaps the self service bit of your system can only cope with 1 year. I think if you legitimately need hard copies of beyond 1 year then I'm sure they will happily print them for you at no extra cost.
More and more companies are doing this, I wonder how mortgage companies view 'printed' payslips. I suppose they just have to vertified by a company representative.0 -

Yes I agree with this.
But as long as they comply with their legal duty to provide you with an itemised payslip, I don't think that changing the method by which they provide that payslip would be a change to your T&Cs of employment and therefore something they would need to consult/seek your consent on.0
