I have to buy a new memory foam mattress. Does anybody have the latest August 2008 "Which?" mattresses review? It's not listed on their official website. Thanks.

OK, went to the library yesterday and looked at the review myself. Nothing new compared with the 2006 test for memory foam mattresses.
I like firm memory foam mattresses, so I have narrowed it down to two options. I would appreciate any comments on the following two products:
Sleepshaper Original 25 firm feel with Outlast cover,
3 cm of 45 kg/m3 memory, 8 cm of 75 kg/m3 memory, 14 cm of 40 kg/m3 reflex.
Body Impressions Night Therapy Quietis
2 cm of 48 kg/m3 Theratouch memory, 10 cm of 64 kg/m3 theratouch memory, 13 cm of 38 kg/m3 reflex.
Price is aroud 700 quid for each of the two.0 -

The second on your list Quietis, check ebay. 1/2 the price.0 -
You will also find that the next Which Magazine will be completely different again, as they are now far more aware about memory foam mattresses than they used to be.
The fact is that the best type of memory foam mattress for support would be one that contains full size steel pocket springs with memory foam. If you can find one then get one that is two sided (memory foam on both sides) as it will last far longer if you can turn it.0 -
I am very tempted by the ebay auction, I will probably go for the quietis because of the price unless I find out that there is noticeable difference between the two in terms of quality.
Any opinion/experience?
Tim, I have read many of the threads on mattresses I know that you prefer pocket spring/memory foam mattresses, but I have slept on foam only mattresses for years and I am now used to (and love!) the "non springy" feel of them, I am a bit worried of changing back now.0 -
The Body Impressions Night Therapy Quietis is the last one I would go for. 12cm of memory foam is way too deep. Due to memory foam being open celled, this means that you will sink right into the memory foam and become engulfed. This can obviously make you very hot as you body heat can't escape.
The Sleepshaper Original 25 firm feel with Outlast cover also has 11cm of memory foam, which is also way too deep.
You should be looking at memory foam with a density of between 60 and 70kg per m3, and a depth of 5cm.
If you look at the 2006 Which report, then the best buy was the Healthbeds Memoryflex.0 -
Have heard that there are cheaper, good quality, memory foam matteresses on the market know. Has anyone come across them?0

That depends on what you mean by cheaper, and by good quality.
There are loads of poor quality memory foam mattresses on the market.0
