2 weeks on, still no iron. they keep saying 'wait'

oK, so I called up and they said it was delivered to a house 118 doors down because I wasnt in (I have a porter tho). It was delivered 2 weeks ago. I asked for a refund and was told 'we cannot do that unless you return the iron, there's nothing more I can help you with'. I cannot believe this.

Actually, as they have already admitted to you that they delivered the iron to a completely different address (118 doors down sounds like a long way away to me!), I cannot see how they can put the onus on you to return it to them. They know you didn't receive the iron, and it sounds to me as though no note was put through your letterbox telling you where it had been left. How are you supposed to get it back to them when you don't have it?

I suggest you ring their customer care line and ask to speak to a supervisor. Don't let them put you off with the old 'he/she is busy at the moment, but if you tell me what it's about, I might be able to help you' spiel. Simply tell them that you will only speak to a supervisor. I'm sure that someone there has to have enough of a brain to realise that none of this is down to you - they should either send you out a replacement or simply refund your money.

I don't quite see what the problem is. Can you not just go the house it was delivered to and collect it? Or won't they hand it over or something?

I just tried calling my friend who works for Morphy Richards but she wasn't at home.I will try and find out what's happening about the iron and get back to you later..

Good news, I just called and was told they have it (Morphy Richards) and have had it for a while. !!!!!!, they make me so angry. They are going to resend it out, well the next model up as I'm not sure they actually have it anymore, more that it was returned. And to think if I hadnt called back I was going to go round this other persons place and make a total, fool of myself

I ordered an iron and it arrived the next day, exactly as ordered. Was £39.99 down to just over £15. I checked on argos and it is currently £39.99 there. Was very happy with the service.
