Well all done and dusted and I feel like a new man.
Very helpful and reassuring would recommend anybody with problems with debt to ring them.
It really does help talking through it.
Not as intrusive as I thought either.
£920 per month they worked out but am going to try get that lowered when I decide to open and complete the forms in the e mail.
Thanks again for all the words of support.
Am going to put the figures up here later on and keep a track of the debt.

    Great news John

Its difficult to reassure people about how much better they will feel once the situation is tackled. Most people do find them very helpful and non-judgemental. Glad to hear you now have a plan of action moving forwards.

£768 per month agreed on now they have to sell it to the creditors.
Debt free in 9 years but if business picks up could be as little as 6.
Thanks for all the kind words, really is the best thing I have probably ever done.
Just hope the creditors go for it.

  • Good luck John, I'm sure they will, no doubt there will be the usual suspects wanting to be awkward, but you are strong and you will get through. Is it the chinese who say, every journey starts with one step? you are on your way................

It will be OK, they want their money and this is how they are going to get it, a bit slower than they expected, but Hey ho, life can be difficult. You have to concentrate on making your life "normal" without credit now. We are a couple of months further along the road and it is getting easier, don't for a minute think I wouldn't like to go back to spendy ways, I had a good life on credit. BUT, I am starting to see a difference, join some of the challenges, join a thread, everybody supports each other, I had a huge thrill to-day when I realised that OH's car insurance was paid over 11 months not 12 so we had a free month this month, whipped it into the full and final account quicker than anything. If you had told me this last year I would just have laughed. I didn't even know we only paid for 11 months, it would have got swallowed up in the general money morass that we were in. So you get started on the normalising of your life and keep posting:j

Yes wish I had done it sooner.
Had a cheque for £2000 just before Xmas and should have done it then and would then have had a little money to one side for emergencies.
Isn't it funny how once you start sending token payments your bank account looks great.
