personally I wouldn't touch any of the local banks, Alliance & Leicester are also doing the £100 move (possibly quidco too) and I find them far more user friendly particularly their online service (although thats moving to the standard Santander set up in November) and also being able to lodge cheques at a post office instead of having to find a branch

Yea I've just moved my current account to A&L after mming and ahhing about the supposed hassle - but there wasnt any! They sorted out all my DDs and my employer for payin in my wages and 100 in my a/c! Really far more stress free then I imagined - previously with N Bank and they rang to ask me why I was changing:
1. fee free overdraft
2. paying 0.5% interest on current a/c (compared to 0.1 I think for N bank!)
3. £100 incentive
4. Free annual travel insurance
The girl went v quiet at this point then whispered "I suppose there's no point asking you if you want an appointment to discuss staying with us...?"
eeeerm ...... NO! I've heard you are more unlikely to change your current a/c than get divorced but really it's no sweat and (coming back to OP) if Ulster Bank are doing something similar my advice would be give it a try!Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D0 -
Both me and my hubby have accounts with the Ulster bank. No complaints here although the staff at our local branch are really good.Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

I'd shift to the Alliance and Leicester if I were you. £100 for switching, all the work is done for you and, crucially, I'm pretty certain they offer 6% interest on balances up to £2500 with a Premier Direct Current Account.
Still amazes me that people bank with the four local banks here.0
