Hi,

Am I the only one who has been severly penalised by C L Finance. My account still shows as default even though I am up to date with all payments and often pay them more than the minimum amount each month. I am fuming! Everytime I speak to someone they refuse to write to me! I have contacted the Financial Ombudsman but I was wondering out of curiosity if anyone else is having problems with them and what they have done to resolve this issue. It is due to them that I am unable to obtain any credit/finance!!!

Thanks,
Emily :A

I have never had a problem with them, in fact I found them to be easier to deal with then any other DCA. They accepted my offer of payment without any argument and didn't expect it to be raised in all the time I was paying them. Plus if I did speak to them on the phone they were really helpful unlike other's out there.
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

Defaults don't work like that. Once an account is defaulted, it stays that way, permanently.

If you did default then that will stay on your record for 6 years, NO MATTER what later payments you make.

The payment scheme you have set up with C L Finance is not relevant.

C L Finance are debt collectors as far as I know, so you presumably did default.

    - CL can continue to record that fact until the account itself drops off your file.
    - They do not have to record payment staus codes any more. The true status is default ("8" or "D"), so that is what will appear as the status from now on.
    - The only thing they should now update on your files is the reduction of any outstanding balance.

  • I have them listed as default on my Experian report.
First time I have used Experian, but trying the free 30 day trial.
Nearly £6K I supposedly owe(its rising monthly) and it is mostly in default except for a couple of random months where they have not made information available...
Funny thing is, as I remember it, I have no association with them and also, the report also does not give a start date!?!
