Our current fixed rate (4.99) mortgage deal with A&L is due to end at the end of April. I called them yesterday to find out what deals they could offer & to see about over payment.
It is a part repaymenyt (£33000) and part int only (35000) as the latter was taken out for deposit on a BTL property. The latter I am happy to keep at interest only as when we sell the BTL it will pay this off.
In the meantime I am trying to reduce the term of the repayment which currently stands at 14years.
Anyway, our payments are £420 pm at present & they can offer a trackert rate of 2.99% with no fees which we can overpay as much as we like as long as we dont pay it off before the 3 year deal comes to an end.
I havent been following A&L rates until now but it would be a lot simpler to stay with them & their deals seem to be competitive, esp with a no fee package. Does anyone know what their trend on rates for existing customers have been lately?
I am just trying to decide whether to secure the deal now for the new rate to start in May or to wait another month or so & see what they have to offer then.
Any thoughts appreciated
thanks
