Hi there guys.
We took out a fixed rate mortgage some time ago, and at that time I was a member of a union. Being a member of the union gave us a discounted rate on the mortgage.
HAvent really thought about it much (at all really) until now as we've had a letter saying that the fixed period is nearly up and what do we want to do.
Included on the letter is a sentance about the union membership and the discount that it generates.
However, i left the union about 2 years ago. Our dilemma now is:
thanks in advance.

- do we not say anything and hope they dont ask for any any proof of union membership
- quickly re-join the union
thanks in advance.

How much does it cost to sign on with the union? Will it upset your boss? Unions can be very useful for many other things, cheap insurances for work, life, etc., legal help and of course, help with employment law. I think it would be helpful to u to rejoin the appropriate union, I'm sure it won't cost as much as the loss of your discount!!0
