Adverse Credit - What Can I Do

Hi,
I have recently been turned down for a re-mortgage by 3 companies for having an 'adverse credit rating'. Although my Experian credit report shows that all of my debts are satisfactory (despite the odd late payment), my credit score is apprently still low.
I have never missed a mortgage payment in 10 years and, with current lending rates, would actually be better off financially by borrowing a little extra on my morgage and paying off a large credit card debt that I have.
Does anyone have any advice or information on a lender who may look upon us more favourably?

If you have spare cash each month to repay an extended mortgage, why not simply use that as a monthly payment to put a dent in the big credit card debt, whilst also tightening up your payment habits to avoid any more 'odd late payments'.
Don't keep re-applying, it will worsen your rating.0 -
