in Cutting tax
My girlfriend is a nanny and they are paid Net, shes never had a payslip and when pressured she can get her P60.
Shes alway been paid cash in hand on top of her salary, could this get her in trouble with the Inland Revenue, as her salary is net, is it fair to accept her employers have paid the deductions on these amounts?

not really - without proof
she needs to be careful - as she and her employers could be reported for tax evasion
banks have a duty to report this for example
I wouldnt let it worry either of you too much - but i'd advise her to ask her employer again
she could possibly ring the IR anonymously asking for advice for someone in that situation
does she knoiw of any other nanny's = how does there's work?0 -
When you talk about salary, is that salary for nannying, or a different job in addition to the nanny work?Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery0

She should also be paying National Insurance contributions. If she's not, what's she going to do about state retirement pension when she needs it?

Its her salary for being a nanny with the family, then each thursday she is given £60 on top in her hand.
Her P60 from last year didn't account for this but the previous years given in March, when we needed it for our mortgage did
Think the best thing is to call the IR and try and get more information...
