Help! Spendaholic Friends and Constant Guilt...

First of all I want to say a big well done for taking control and sticking with all the MSE stuff for the last year. :T
That in itself is very difficult (I am only 3 months in since my LBM and find it so hard sometimes) but it is made even worse by people around you not understanding and being supportive.
I really empathise with your situation as most, if not all of my friends and colleagues either earn more than me, don't have any debt problems, or still live with their parents so they all have significantly more disposable income than me. Some of them just don't get it at all when I say I can't afford to do things. What I find most frustrating is when a group of friends are organising something I would really LOVE to do and I have to refuse and say I can't afford it. Makes me want to cry sometimes .
However, as the lovely people have said above, you have learned how to be strong so you know you can do it. It will make your life so much better in the long run once you have got rid of the debt.
