Posting to give myself a small pat on the back and a bigger kick up the bottom

Hello All

Posting on here to share a small triumph - its the end of the month, pay day tomorrow and for the first time in ooooooh about 8 years (maybe more), I am not scratching around the house for cash as I am up to my OD limit, oh no..this month I am actually £80 below my OD limit and will shortly be calling those people at Barclays and asking them for the first time in my life to reduce my overdraft!:D

I feel excited and proud, a small triumph but has really spurred me on.:j

Thanks to those of you who gave me the advice months back about paying off the OD with what's left in the account,:A back then I thought "but I never have anything left". I am chuffed that I have made changes, and am lucky to still be working and managing to have enough money for some treats but to be steadily be paying back what I owe.

Happy Thursday!

  • Grrr, slight update and annoyance that Barclays won't let me reduce the overdraft over the phone or online I have to go into a branch!!! Amazingly different situation that when they are dishing out the credit and earning themselves some money! Hmmmm...

Then as a I am trying to get off the phone the guy try's to sell me a loan, I keep saying no thanks, but he continues and slips in at the end that it is a secured loan.

Oh well, high ho, its off to the branch I go.....

Well done you! I had the same problem with reducing my Bank of Scotland overdraft - apparently I had to be in credit for three days before I could reduce the limt or remove it completely! Nonsense (paid off fully now and sent my letter to close the account completely this week!).
