buying some scales

I want to weigh myself more. At the moment I go to Boots and i know its accurate but it costs 50p every time?

Could do with some at home? Which are good ones to buy and are they accurate?

  • I have weigthwatchers scales bought from argos, they don't seem to have my exact ones at mo but do have others.

Mine do weight, body fat, body water & BMI, I've had them more than 2 years and not needed to replace the battery - only use once per week, I presume they are accurate LOL
They are quite pricey around £25.00 but if you are currently paying 50p a go...

I know this isn't really answering your question but can I suggest that you measure your success with a tape measure instead? The problem with normal scales is that they don't differentiate between good weight (muscle) and not so good weight (excess fat). A tape measure will show you that you're losing or gaining inches and will be much less affected by drinking a glass of water or two just before measuring. It's much cheaper too.

Otherwise any scales are probably OK as long as you look at them as things that take relative measurements (i.e. you can see if your weight is going up or down). Unless you spend a lot of money accuracy isn't going to be great.
  • I bought some weightwatcher scales from tescos, tescos were the cheapest. I go to slimming world and they are accurate within 3lbs to their scales. They don't do your bmi, body fat etc.

I bought these scales from Robert Dyas. They do weight, body fat, water, muscle and bone mass. I think they're good.
