I did not serve my friend(I am fully aware you do not serve family or friends - this is standard retail practice) she was served by another person and whilst I spoke to her I remembered the unwanted voucher and innocently gave it to her - it was given to her in good faith as I was unaware I was in breach of any security rules.
I did not have a companion at the investigatory hearing because I had no idea why I was there ! A good friend who worked at the other store was with me for the next meeting0 -

oh i work for boots and have given a voucher to the next person in the que as the customer refused it and said give it to someone else. i have worked there 2 months only 1 day a week but havent been told not to do that.

OP you telling me boots(if they are the employer) didnt train you properly and let you losse on the shop floor0

It is only a guess on my part. I believe they do use civil recovery, and I hung the idea out for the OP to bite.
