Call National Debtline (0808 808 4000) tomorrow (sorry, I can't post the link as I'm a new member, but just google it or look for it on here). Get your worries off your chest and be honest, they can give you advice on what to do in your situation.
You don't have to tell them your name, and you can call back many times as they give you a reference number for the details you have given (saves saying it all over again each time).
Just give them a call, it may not be as bad as you think, but even if it is, you can start planning forward.

hi katie sorry to hear how things are with you
i think the first thing you need to do is get on touch with one of the debt charities for some advice, try the national debt helpline, or cccs or the cab, and they will tell you what are your options, and indeed whether br is an option
if the phone calls are getting too much, delay them by either sending a letter asking for all correspondence in writing (they should take note of this but they don't always), or tell them you are seeking advice and will contact them after advice received, this will buy you a couple of weeks. if you can't get through to them, consider changing your number, or unplug the landline as a short term measure
any other questions please ask....0 -
Hi Katie, firstly you need to contact one of the debt charities they will be able to talk through all you options with you, we went to the CAB they were brilliant but we had to wait for an appointment and you dont sound like you want to wait too long before you talk to someone. There are others, read through the stickys at the top of the first page for some more help
Once you have a clearer idea of what you want/need to do the people on here will be invaluable, they will help anyway but its easier once you know what your going to do.
You are very young so no matter what you do it be a distant memory before too long although it wont feel like that for a while.
Now you are going to deal with it things will get better i remember the feeling of dread every month when hubbys wage slip came in and i had to try and figure out what i had to pay and what i could put off.
Stick around you will get all the help you need but remember to contact one of the charities
Good luck[STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]

Thank you so much for this. I am tearing my hair out. I have heard of both CCCS and National Debt Line but I have just been ignoring the situation. I haven't paid anyone since September. I WILL do it. So scary

What about a bad credit consolidation loan? Has anybody gone down this route?£10,000 challenge£175/£10,000:eek:Total Debt - £lots!:TWeightloss Challenge 11lb:T*Just because I rock does not mean that I am made of stone*0

Ive not heard of that, you could mention it when you talk to cccs or national debt line. Others will have heard of it though.
Do you really want to borrow more money to pay off debts though?[STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]

Try the debt free wannabe board, post up an SOA and see what they suggest.
EDIT - Consolidation loans tend to cost you more money in the end, and a lot of people seem to just end up further in debt after them (by continuing the same habits).0 -
Sorry, i'm new to all this. What is an SOA please?£10,000 challenge£175/£10,000:eek:Total Debt - £lots!:TWeightloss Challenge 11lb:T*Just because I rock does not mean that I am made of stone*0
