Help with grocery shopping/meal planning

I seem to be wasting too much food lately and it's down to lack of planning mainly because hubby and I have stressful jobs at the mo and I just don't get time at the weekend to sit down and plan meals and then buy what's needed. We used to eat a lot of convenience food (cooking is more of a chore than a pleasure for me ........except baking cakes!) but I'm trying to lose weight so back to cooking from scratch I feel. Hubby is VERY fussy eater (won't eat rice, pasta, spicy or foreign food) so I really struggle and in the past when I've dieted, I've cooked 2 different meals. I don't have time to do this now so really after some advice or useful websites that can help with meal planning so I'm not wasting food. Hubby also is not domesticated in the kitchen - he's cooked for me once in the 17 years we've been together!! I always have too many potatoes left at the end of the week that have gone green yet if I don't buy enough, I will run out mid week and have to make a separate trip to get some.

Really stuck in a rut at the mo and could do with some help!

    It's light that makes them go green, they keep longer if you keep them in a cold dark place with plenty of ventilation.

    You'll get lots of help on meal planning in the money saving old style board.
  • If you run out of spuds, cook something else
    If you have them left use them- make sheese & potato pie for example

    What DOES Dh like to eat? Maybe start from there
