NARIC Certificate of Comparability

HI. Anyone have "got" it (is normally for foreigners with a degree from abroad), have "use" it or have "heard" about it. Cost about £47, so not sure if is worth-it. (My OH have a degree and we are trying to find out if she can top-it-up, but so far no-one will give a direction. :huh: :huh:)
She have a Teacher of The Italian Language for the High School degree from Tirana University(Albania). NARIC compare to Diploma of Higher Education(DipHE).

Speak to Naric and ask them, if they recognise it as a degree - then it would seem that is the way to go. I know nothing about this but gleamed that from here:

UK NARIC are well respected - they're not some sort of dodgy organisation, they're extremely well recognised and are used by all kinds of bodies who need to find out about how international qualifications are comparable

I don't know specifically about the certificate (I think you mean the statement of comparability), but it might be worth getting in touch with a few universities to see if they will accept your OHs qualification in order for her to top it up before you buy the statement. It may be that you only need the statement if and when you come to enrol on a degree course (as a proof of qualification), and so there's no point spending £47 if you don't need to. You might need it to apply, so it's worth finding out. It'd probably be best to speak to the international offices at the universities rather than the general enquiries people, as they'd probably be able to advise you more about international qualifications and what you need to do.

I think you mean the statement of comparability.

We pay 3 years ago for the so called "Letter of Comparability", which shows what your diploma(degree) is comparable to UK standards.

It'd probably be best to speak to the international offices at the universities.

This is a great advice. Never thought to ask them.

A DipHE .is equivalent to the first two years of a UK degree. If your OH wants to top this up to a degree, the best way of doing this will be with the Open University. If you contact them they will tell you how many additional credits are needed for a full degree; if they agree that it's equivalent to a DipHE then I would expect her to need an additional 120 credits, which will ususally involve 2 years of part time study.
