Hi
Can anyone tell me whether I get charged imediately or at the time of despatch for a pre-ordered item on Amazon?
I have just bought a few items and didnt realise the pre-order item was added not saved for later so I have overspent
Thanks

Yes they do, but if the price on despatch is cheaper than the pre-order price you get a refund. This happened to me with The Hairy Bikers book. I paid £11.99, and they then sold it for £9.99. They refunded me £2.01/I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. They charge at the time of dispatch, unless you are paying with Amazon vouchers, in which case they remove the amount as you order.
IME if the price at dispatch is lower than the price when you ordered they charge you the original price to your card, then give you a refund of the difference (these transactions happen pretty much instantaneously). I presume it's to do with you agreeing to pay £x in the original order.
