re-mortgage with an IVA

I would like to take advantage of the low deals at the moment (before they start to rise) but has I have an IVA I am finding it hard to find a company that will offer any deals. Even my present lender (Northern Rock) have put me into a category which do not offer deals.
can anybody help?

You need to give more information - what's the value of your property (realistic) and the amount of outstanding mortgage. What's your salary?

Will the SVR be any good?

    Interesting, Dave.

I was always under the impression that, when taking out a new fixed rate with the same lender at the end of your existing one, a new credit scoring is NOT needed?!

That is the case but the situation with NR is different

Interesting. OK. My NR is fixed for two years still so that's a relief. My Lloyds one is up for 'renewal' now (offering a 2-year fix of 3.99 which I think is excellent) so if they don't do a search I'll get in on that.

Dave if your'e IVA began in the last 6 years then there is no lender offering 'deals' that will be able to assist.
  • It always surprises me that lenders don't differentiate between secured debt and unsecured debt. If someone's managed to maintain payments on a mortgage without issue, even at the expense of unsecured debts, this should be looked upon favourably. Alas, I'm not Merv.
