Domain Names - are they assets?

To register a domain name is about £5+VAT for the two years. If you sell one on where does that go on the tax return?
As an asset it attracts something like 17%, whilst bundled in with the rest of the profits it can be subject to 40%!
What is a domain name? Is it an asset? Capital?
Any help would be appreciated, I've never sold a domain on before (as I normally have naff ones for family that no-one else would ever want!).

I've been making animations for my daughter. Tell me what you think? Search for "Where are you Pickles?" and "Pickles and the Bully" on YouTube.
