rad, the key point is that there's no need to lie. You had a misunderstanding that can be sorted out. Even if this lender doesn't agree, if you accept MortgageMamma's offer she'll probably end up finding you an even better deal!

Yes don't worry, I'm not trying to worry you, but if you need some help and quickly I will give it. start by telling me what you earn and what you need to borrow over how long, and the amount of any loan/credit card repayments you have and I should at least be able to tell you if its doable.

A guy in my work had to tell a small lie about his salary to get a mortgage - he cleared it with the boss though and the boss signed the form to confirm his pretend salary, he just said "don't expect to actually be paid this amount, though!

Is there anyway you can perhaps bring your parents in as guarantors/co-lenders? i have a joint mortgage with my mum because i wasn't earning enough to get the mortgage i needed; she is a silent partner and doesn't contribute to the mortgage payments and i got in a lodger to make my repayments easier to handle on my own.

there is a reason why affordability models are in place thetope - so your colleague doesn't fall into problems with repayments - but up to him i suppose

rad, id say this is not your fault - the lender might be ok - as part of the rationales i have to key are based on any expected salary increases in the future with proof - you have that proof
