help, i have major debts, some though have not been paid for 6 yrs, can i claim statute barred, i asked for original agreement which they say they cannot supply, but they say i have acknowledged debt by making the odd token payment

Debts are statute barred if you have not written to acknowledge the debt, or paid towards the debt (for a period of 6 or more years (5 in Scotland)).

Once a debt is SB, it is always SB even if you pay towards it later.
If they state you have made token payments, ask for proof of this as you are not aware of any payments or acknowledgement made towards the account they are chasing. If they do send statements, you will then need to check via your own bank statements that no such payment was made.
Asking for the CCA, might be acknowledging the debt as you are writing for information on the accountAlthough no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

If you have acknowledged them i don`t think they can be barred.
